What we did
- Lantau island, visited the Buddhist temple & the Big Buddha
- Went up the Peak via the Peak tram - impossibly steep!
- Visited Cheung Chau island and the beach
- Foot massage on Nathan Road (best not mention it again)
- Visited our Hong Kong office
- Stanley (by bus from Central) - beach & market
- Wan ton soup on Canton Road
- T'ai chi in Kowloon Park
- Star Ferry to Central (many, many times)
- Became Octopus regulars on the MTR and in shops - it's the future
- Rode on the Central to North Point tram
- Wan Tai Sin temple
- Golden Computer Arcade at SSP
- Temple Street night market
- Mong Kok - man street & lady street markets, plus shopping centres...
- Dinner at Aqua restaurant, overlooking the harbour at night
- Afternoon tea at the Intercontinental overlooking the harbour & the sunset
- Walked through the Wan Chai night-life
- Dinner in at one of the many restaurant Causeway Bay
- Palm reading at the monastery at Wan Tai Sin
- ?? Street food in Wan Chai before going home
- Various lunches and dinners in the food court in Harbour City
- Visited Shanghai
- Chinese reflexology foot massage / head & neck massage
- Walked down the Bund
- Visited the Old Town
- Dinner at Jean Georges
- Mag-lev train to the airport (but before 9am, so it wasn't going at its fastest speed)
- Went through the French concession
- Went to the champagne reception for the opening of the Hyatt on the Bund (our hotel)
- The famous 'garden' (i.e. shops) in the Old Town
What we didn't do
- Happy Valley - horse racing
- Afternoon tea at the Peninsula
What we should do next time (if ever able to afford to come back)
- Chinese afternoon tea at the Intercontinental with dim sum
- Dim sum lunch or dinner
- Seafood dinner served directly from the tank!
- Dinner at the Peak
- Visit the New Territories - maybe take a (short) hike
- Stanley - go back and visit the temple(s)
- Reflexology (not foot massage) for Vicky
- Thai Lemongrass & Lan Kwai Fong nightlife
- Lam Lin gardens
- Dinner at the restaurant one floor below Aqua - looked brilliant!
- In Shanghai
- Go on the mag-lev train between 9am and 5pm when it's at its fastest
- Always get the taxi driver to print a receipt (so you can report him for being rubbish)
- Boat cruise - if deemed safe enough (looks a bit questionable)
- Eat more street food - it looks really good, but too worried about getting ill
